Compare 1587 edition: 1 Dyuerſe of the Brytaynes and Pictes which as yet had not ſubmitted themſelues, were put in ſuch dread through brute of this ouerthrow, that immediately therevpon they came in and yeel|ded themſelues vnto Veſpaſian.The people of Galloway ſub|mit themſel|ues to the Ro|maines. And in ſem|blable wiſe the people of Galloway vtterly dyſ|payring longer to defende theyr Countrey a|gaynſt Planctius (who was nowe entered into their confines, and had taken the Citie of Car|ricke) offered to become ſubiectes vnto the Ro|maines, which they might neuer be brought vn|to before that tyme.
