rather at Rockesborough (as Abington saith) a great number of

the king came vnto saint Iohns towne about Midsum|mer, and there
tarried certeine daies. Whilest these things were a dooing, Iohn king of
Scotland, percei|uing that he was not of power to resist king Ed|ward, sent
ambassadors vnto him to sue for peace: king Edward was content to heare
them, and there|vpon appointed, that king Iohn should resort vnto the
castell of Brechin, there to commen with such of his councell as he would
send thither within fifteene daies next ensuing, to treat of an
