[1] Thus was that strong castell of Edenburgh sur|rendred by force of siege, to the king of Englands vse, on the 15 daie, after he had first laid his siege about it. A place of such strength by the height of the ground whereon it stood, that it was thought impreg|nable, and had not béene woone by force at any time, since the first building therof, before that present, so farre as anie remembrance either by writing or o|therwise could be had thereof.
