Therfore diuerse earls and barons of France, which before that time had serued king Richard, re|paired vnto king Iohn, and tooke an oth to assist him, and not to agrée with the French king without his consent: and he likewise sware vnto them, not to make peace with the French king, except they were therein comprised.
