Compare 1587 edition: 1 In the meane time Ferquhard remayning ſtill in priſon and vexed with ſundry diſeaſes, to ridde himſelfe out of ſuch miſeries, ſlew him ſelfe in the .xiij.The deſperate ende of king Ferquhard. yeere of his raigne: and ſo nothing ſpared his owne life in the end, which had bin the occaſiõ of the loſſe of ſo many other mẽs liues in time of ye ciuil diſcord, that hee had euer noriſhed.
