Compare 1587 edition: 1 He ſlewe that day with his owne hands three gentlemen arrayed in the Kings coate armour, and finally when the battell was loſt,He is taken priſoner. he was ta|ken in the chaſe and ſaued aliue, where not one more of all his retinue of Scottes eſcaped with life, but were all ſlayne out of hande.

Neyther was this victory gotten by Kyng Henry withoute greate ſlaughter of thoſe that were on his parte, for he loſt foure right valiaunt Knights, as Staluart, Blont, Maſſie, and Pot|tok, with ſeuen hundred other ſouldiers and men of warre, as the Scottiſhe writers haue, but the Engliſh auctors name a farre greater number, as ſixteene hundred at the leaſt.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 King Henry (as the ſame Scottiſhe writers doe recorde) vſed the counſell & aduice of ye Earle of March in the obteyning of this victory, being fled lately before from the Rebelles ſyde vnto him.
