Compare 1587 edition: 1 The Popes ambaſſadours not regarded.In the meane tyme, Philip king of Fraunce laboured to the Pope, that he mighte by his au|thoritie cauſe the Engliſhmen to ſurceaſſe from further vexing the Scottes, by their cruell inua|ſions made into their countrey: But when the Popes ambaſſadours came aboute this matter into Englande, they were ſo little regarded, that they could not get licence to declare ye meſſage, & ſo were they glad to returne without dooing any thing in the matter whereabout they were ſent.
