Compare 1587 edition: 1 A bridge of ſtone made at Sterling.Oſbert alſo in this place cauſed a ſtone bridge to be made ouer the water of Forth, in ſtead of the woodden bridge which the Picts had made there, and was now pulled downe, and in the midſt of this new ſtone bridge, he ſet vp a croſſe, whereon were grauen theſe verſes.
