Compare 1587 edition: 1 In this meane tyme,Gratian vſur|ped the go|uernance of Brytaine. one Gratian diſcended of the Brytiſhe bloud, by conſent of the Romain Legate Martius, (both of them going agaynſte theyr allegiaunce) vſurped the gouernaunce of Brytayne by his owne priuate authoritie: but ſhortly after, they two falling at variance togi|ther, the one of them ſlue the other.Martius ſlain. And then the Souldiers not ſtaying till they vnderſtoode the pleaſure of Honorius the Emperour,Conſtantine ſucceedeth Martius. choſe one Conſtantine to ſucceed in the place of Mar|tius, who paſſing ouer into Fraunce, was ſlaine there by Conſtantius,Conſtantine is ſlaine. one of the Captaynes of the ſayd Honorius.
