Compare 1587 edition: 1 After this,Weſtmerland and Kendall ſpoyled by the Scottiſh men and Pictes. gathering togither his people again as they fled from the diſcomfiture he retired back with them vnto Yorke, hauing loſt in his bicke|ring a great number of his beſt ſoldiers, and men of warre: for the Scottes and Pictes miſſing no ſmall number of their friends in that battaile, wer not ſatiſfied with thoſe whom they had likewyſe ſlain in the fight, but alſo fel vpon their priſoners which they had taken, and ſlue them alſo in re|uenge of their fellowes whom they had loſt.

There were alſo diuerſe of the Britiſhe nobilitie amongeſt them not knowne, for they were diſ|guiſed in ſtraunge apparel, counterfeiting them|ſelues to be of the vulgar ſort. The furie of theſe people was great, but yet in the ende the politike order of the Romains vanquiſhed them,The ſame com+mons are van|quiſhed. howbait not without great ſlaughter on both ſides.
