Compare 1587 edition: 1 The Brytains being certified of the repaire of their enimies to Berigoniũ, enuironed the caſtell with a ſtrong and vehement ſiege, vntill that the Scots within were conſtreyned through [...] of vitayles to eate each other,Scots b [...] [...] an other. according as ye lots fell by a cõmon agreement made amongſt them.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 But when it came to paſſe, that euen thoſe that were reputed as heads and gouernours, & in whom conſiſted the hope of theyr whole defenſe, did now and then come to the ſhambles aſwell as other of leſſe reputation, they thought it beſte to trie by iſſuyng foorth, if any of theyr happes might be ſo good as to eſcape the daũger preſent, whereas by tarying ſtill within the fortreſſe, they ſhould but deuoure one another without any re|uenge for loſſe of their liues, had vpon their fierce and cruell enimies.
