[1] In the morning early before the battayle,The Earle of Dowglas chaſed. the Earle of Dowglas departed frõ the armie to deſerie the Engliſh hoſt, and to vnderſtande their force and order (if it were poſſible) but entring ſomewhat vnwarely within daunger of his eni|mies, he was chaſed, and that to ſuch diſaduan|tage, that he loſt fiftie or rather fiue hundred (as ſome bookes haue) of yong Gentlemen, and ſuch other light horſemen as he tooke forth with him, eſcaping verie narowly himſelfe alſo from beyng taken at the chaſe.
