[1] Yet were there ſundrie prudent counſellors in the Scottiſhe armie, that for diuers reſpectes aduiſed him in no wiſe to fight with the enemies at that preſent, conſidering the huge number of practiſed ſouldiours whiche they had amongeſt them, and the wante of ſkilfull warrioures on his ſyde, hauing fewe wyth hym ſaue young menne, and ſuche as lacked experience in the warres, for that they hadde bin but little tray|ned therein.
