[1] The Engliſh men in the ende, thought it beſt to chooſe forth a place to encampe in for ye night,The Engliſhe men ſent to the Scottes. and ſo doing ſent an Heralde at armes vnto the Scottes, requyring them to come downe vnto ſome euen grounde where battaile might bee gi|uen:The anſwer of the Scottes. but the Scottes refuſed ſo to doe, alledging that ſithe the Engliſhe men were three to one of them in number, it was no reaſon to wil them to forſake their grounde of aduauntage which they had taken and choſen forth for their own defence.
