[1] Then afterwardes, by the generall conſent of all the eſtates of IrelandeEdward Bruce proclaimed K. of Irelande. Edwarde Bruce was proclaymed king of that Realme, and certaine of the Iriſh Nobilitie ſent Ambaſſadors vnto the Pope, to ſewe for a ratification of theyr act and proceedings, for the ſuretie and weale of theyr Countrey, ſithe they were not able longer to ſuſteyne the grieuous yoke of the Engliſh thral|dome.
