'ful gemæcne' - Another puzzle: why is a man hygegeomorne, mod miþendne and morþor hycgendne suitable? Marsden suggests the expression might be ironic. Given that the scribe wrote hycgende, so that the epithet applies to the woman, it is possible he found this passage as confusing as we do.
