'wyrmlicum fah' - A very opaque phrase: M-R translate 'decorated with serpentine patterns'. It is likely to signal some sort of design, carved in relief on the (stone) walls of the hall. Leslie notes that serpents and serpentine sea-beasts were a popular decorative motif in Roman stone friezes. For discussion, see Millns 1977.
