Line 29a

'weman' - The manuscript reads weman. Klinck prints this and translates 'entice'; other editors emend to wenian. Throughout the Exeter Book, the scribe often confused ni with m: þrea medlum for þreaniedlum (Guthlac 696), þrea med lic for þreaniedlic (Juliana 128) and med þio wa for niedþiowa (Christ 361).
