ealdgewyrhtum - Swanton compares this word (which occurs elsewhere only in Beowulf 2657) with "ærgewyrht" which occurs several times. However only in Guthlac 987 does it seem to refer to Adam's original sin. It more commonly refers to previous deeds which will gain the doer heaven or hell at Judgment. The use of the plural here is generic. The reference is clearly to the eating of the apple.
