Line 46

The shift into the present tense ties the image of the wounded cross intimately to the image of the risen Christ with the imprint of the nails on Him. See Images: London, British Library, Cotton Galba A. xvii, fol. 21v where Christ in glory is showing the wounds still on Him. The vocabulary of this whole pasage relates closely to that of Christ 1107ff and also the torture of St Andrew - Andreas 1394ff.
