'worhton ane cyrcan wurðlice' - Abbo reveals that this new church was built at Bury-St-Edmunds and was immense in size (permaximam aecclesiam). The Kalendar of Bury St Edmund's abbey records that Edmund's remains were translated to this new church on March 30. Translations usually took place on a Sunday, so the translation can perhaps be dated to 951 or 962, the two years in the second half of the tenth century in which March 30 was a Sunday.
