'seo tunge . . . betynde' - Despite M-R, illaque lingua needn't be ablative, so the translator is not in error to take it as nominative. Compare with the OE the translation of Bede's Latin given by Colgrave and Mynors: 'his tongue which had uttered so many good words in praise of the Creator also uttered its last words in his praise, as he signed himself with the sign of the cross and commended himself into God's hands'.
