Line 719a

'heardran hæle' - Either accusative, and parallel to healðegnas as the object of fand (translate 'never did he before nor after in the days of his life find hall thanes [and] worse luck'), or dative, 'with harder fortune', again governed by 'fand' (translate '... hall thanes with harder fortune'). For further discussion, see Rosier 1974.
