'læded weorðan' - The manuscript has . . . . weorðan, though Holthausen in an edition of 1905 claimed to be able to read læded. The idiom is paralleled in the poem Soul and Body, where the Soul, now separated from the Body (of lichaman læded wære), reflects unhappily on its coming fate at the Day of Judgement.
