Compare 1587 edition: 1 The King therefore to bring them to order, cauſed to prepare a good nauie of ſhippes, and in EEBO page image 445 the Moneth of May went abourde the ſame in the road of Lieth, hauing with him the Earles of Arrane, [...]e king ſay| [...] North| [...]es to the [...] Orkney [...] others. Huntley, Argile, and diuerſe other Erles, Lordes, and Barons, with whom he ſayled forth by the coaſtes of Fiffe, Angus, Aderdin by Mur|rey fyr [...]h, Southerlande, and Cathenes, tyll bee came to Orkeney, where he landing and all hys companie with him, were receyued right honou|rably by the Biſhop Robert Maxwell. Here they furniſhed themſelues with [...] vittailes, and o|ther ſuch things as were neceſſarie, and taking the ſeas aga [...]ie, ſayled to the Iles of Skie, and Lewis, where Mac Clewd of the Lewis, a prin|cipall clan of his kin, was brought vnto the king, who ſent forth alſo a cõpanie vnto Mac Clewd haugh, who came likewiſe out of his Ile, and preſented him ſelfe to the king.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 From thence the king ſayled by the coaſt of Roſſe by Kyntaile, to the Ile of Tranternes, where diuerſe of the Maconiles, ſuch as the Lord Olagarry. Iohn Moydart and others, (who aled|ged themſelues to be of the principall bloud, and Lords of the Iles were brought alſo to the kings preſence.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 From thence trauayling through the reſidue of the Iles, Maclane, and Iames Maconile of Kinter, being the two principal Captaines of the ſmall Iles, [...] Iles [...]th to [...] order. came likewiſe to the king, who at length landed at Dunbretaine, and ſent the cap|tayns and ſhips with priſoners to paſſe the ſame, way he came rounde aboute the coaſt ſo to come to Edenbourgh, where the ſame priſoners beeing arriued, the chiefe heades of them were kept in ward as pledges for good rule in their Countries, and were not ſuffred to depare ſo long as the king liued, whereby there followed greate quietneſſe, and as good obedience to the lawes throughout al the Iles, as there was in any part of the realm, and as good account and payment made to the kings Comptroller in his Exchequer, for the lands of the ſame Iles perteyning to the crowne, as for any part of the reuenues belonging there|vnto within the maine land.
