Compare 1587 edition: 1 Then after the Earle was thus made away,His brethren make warre a|gainſt the king. his brethren made open warre agaynſt the king, and ſa [...] all ſuch of his friendes and ſeruantes, as they might encounter [...] with: Inſomuch that thoſe which trauailed by the high wayes were [...] doubt to confeſſe whether they belonged to the king, or to the Dowglaſſes.
