Neyther was this victory gotten by Kyng Henry withoute greate ſlaughter of thoſe that were on his parte, for he loſt foure right valiaunt Knights, as Staluart, Blont, Maſſie, and Pot|tok, with ſeuen hundred other ſouldiers and men of warre, as the Scottiſhe writers haue, but the Engliſh auctors name a farre greater number, as ſixteene hundred at the leaſt.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 King Henry (as the ſame Scottiſhe writers doe recorde) vſed the counſell & aduice of ye Earle of March in the obteyning of this victory, being fled lately before from the Rebelles ſyde vnto him.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 The Earle of Dowglas in reſpect of his noble parentage and high valiancie, was right tenderly cheriſhed by King Henry, who for that hee hadde ſeene him doe ſo valiantly in the day of that bat|tell, reputed hym worthy of all honor.
