Compare 1587 edition: 1 Then after this,The Duke of Rothſay fa|miſhed to death. the Duke deſtitute of all worldly ſuſtenaunce through very famine, was conſtreyned to eate not onely all ſuche filth as hee could finde within the Towre, but alſo in ye end, hee gnawed off his owne fingers, and ſo finally in this miſerable ſtate of Martirdome (as I may call it) ended his wretched life, and was buryed in Lundoris,Miracles. where (as the fame wente many fayre miracles were done neere to his graue, till tyme that Iames the firſt began to puniſh the murthe|rers, for ſithens that time ſuch miracles ceaſſed.
