The death of Queene An|nabell.In the yeere after, deceaſſed the Scottiſhe Queene Annabell Drommond, after whoſe de|ceſſe hir ſonne Dauid the Duke of Rothſay that vnder hir gouernemente had bin well and vertu|ouſly broughte vp, hauing nowe gote once the reyne at liberty,The inſolent outrage of the Duke of Roth|ſay. fell to al kind of inſolent outrage, ſeeking to defyle Wiues, Virgines, Nunnes, and al other kind of womẽ in al places wher he came.

At length, his Father perceyuing his ſonnes youthful nature to rage after that manner in vn|brideled luſt beyond the tearmes of all meaſure, to the great reproch of them both, wrote to his bro|ther the Duke of Albany, requiring him to take his ſonne, the ſaid Duke of Rothſay into his cu|ſtody, and to ſee him ſo chaſtiſed for his wanton behauiour, as he might learne to amend the ſame.

Here is to be noted, that the Duke of Albany had of long time before, deſired to ſee the Duke of Rothſay diſpatched out of the way, as the perſon whome hee moſt doubted, and therefore hauyng commiſſion thus from the King to take him, hee reioyced not a little, truſting thereby, to compaſſe his purpoſe without daunger.
