Compare 1587 edition: 1 The ſame yeere, Richard King of England maried Iſabell daughter to the Frenche King, and ſoone after,Richard King of Englande goeth into Irelande. went into Ireland to ſubdue ſuch Iriſhe Rebells, as troubled the quiet ſtate of the Countrey. But in the meane time, his Lords at home rebelled againſt him, and determined to de|poſe him from the Crowne, ſo that vpon hys re|turne into Englande, hee was apprehended and put in ward, and ſhortly after,King Richard is depoſed. conſtrayned to re|nounce all his righte to the Crowne, and adiud|ged therewith to perpetuall priſon yet at length,He is adiud|ged to perpe|tuall priſon. (as the Scottiſh Chronicle telleth) he gote forth of priſon diſguiſed in womans apparell, & came into Galloway, where hee fell in ſeruice with a Scottiſhman named Makdonald, but at ye laſt,He eſcapeth foorth of priſon. being bewrayed and knowen what he was, and therevpon brought to King Robert, he was right honorably by him entertained, neuertheleſſe, kno|wing him ſelfe depoſed from his royall eſtate, hee gaue himſelfe wholly to contemplation, til final|ly he departed this world at Striueling, and was buried in the blacke Friers there within the ſame towne as the ſame Scottiſh Chronicles vntrue|ly do report. King Robert in conſideratiõ of a ſumme of mo|ney to him aforehand payd, contracted couenants of mariage to be had and made betwixt his ſonne the Duke of Rothſay, and the Earle of Marches daughter,The occaſion of the falling foorth betwixt King Robert, and the Earle of March. but Archembalde Earle of Dowglas hauing indignation yt the Earle of March ſhould be preferred before him, by ſupport of the Duke of Albany, procured a counſel to be called, in ye whi|che hee founde meanes to aſſure his daughter the Lady Mariory vnto the ſayd Duke of Rothſay, and with al ſpeede went about to conſummate ye mariage betwixt them, to put the matter out of all doubt.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 The Earle of March perceiuing this dealing, came to the King, and required to know his plea|ſure, if he minded to performe the couenantes cõ|cluded, concerning the mariage betwixt ye prince & his daughter or not, making as it were a great complainte of that which was already done to ye breach thereof, and receyuing anſwere nothyng agreeable to his minde, hee departed in a greate fume, not ſticking to ſay, hee woulde be reuenged on ſuch vntruth ere it were long.
