Compare 1587 edition: 1 At their entring into the fielde or liſtes where they ſhould darraigne ye battell, one of ye Clannes wanted one of hys number, by reaſon that hee which ſhould haue ſupplyed it, was priuily ſtol|len away, not willing to be partaker of ſo deere a bargaine, but there was a Countrey felowe a|mõgſt the beholders, being ſory that ſo notables fighte ſhoulde be paſſed ouer, offered himſelfe for a ſmall ſumme of money to fyll vp the number, though the matter apperteyned nothing to him, nor to any of his friends.
