Compare 1587 edition: 1 The Earle of Fife ſonne to king Robert was appoynted to bee generall of this armie,The Earle of Fife. hauing with him the Earles of Dowglas, and Marche,An armie of Scottes and French men enter into England. Archymbald Dowglas Lord of Galloway, and diuerſe other of the Scottiſh nobilitie.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 This armie when they were all togither, a|mounted to the number of fiftie thouſande men, the which entring into England,Caſtels wonne. tooke the caſtels of Warke, Fourde, and Cornwall.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 After this, by robbing and ſpoyling the coun|trey betwixt Barwike and Newcaſtell, they did much hurt in all parties where they came, but through continuall rayne whiche fell as then in greate aboundaunce, they were conſtrayned to returne into Scotlande, where they pytched downe theyr fielde neare to the Caſtell of Rokeſ|bourgh, purpoſing to haue aſſayed the wynning thereof, but foraſmuche as they coulde not agree in whoſe name it ſhoulde be kept, if were woon, they left that enterpriſe.The French men & Scots cannot agree. For the French men re|quyred that if they wanne it, that then it might bee kept by them, in the name, and to the behoofe of the French King, whervnto the Scots would not agree.
