Compare 1587 edition: 1 On the .xxij. day of October, in the yere .1378.1378 Dauid Stewarde was borne, which afterwards was made Duke of Rothſay, and on Saint An|drowes day next following,Barwike taken by Scottes. the towne of Bar|wike was taken by ſir Iohn Gordon and .vj. or vij. other knightes, but it was not long kept:Recouered a|gaine out of their handes. for a number of Engliſh men entring by a poſterne of the Caſtell, recouered the towne eaſily againe out of the Scottiſh mens handes.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 After this,1380 William Erle of Dowglas came with .xx. thouſande men to the Fayre of Pennire within England, and ſpoyled all the goods found as then in the ſame Fayre,The Fayre of Pennyre. and ſo returned with great ryches into Scotlande: but the Scottiſhe men ſmally reioyſed at this gaynes, for with ſuch cloth & other wares as they brought away with them from the foreſayde Fayre, they brought in|to the Countrey ſuche a violent and ſore peſti|lence,The thirde time that the peſtilẽce came in to Scotland. that the thirde part of all the people where it came dyed therof.
