Compare 1587 edition: 1 Immediately vppon this ouerthrowe of the Scottiſh power, Alexander Seyton and Patrick Dunbar captaynes of Barwicke,The towne of Barwike yeelded to King Edward on S. Marga|rets day, as R. Southwell hath. deſpayring of all ſupport, yeelded the towne to King Edward, with condition to haue their liues and goodes ſa|ued, and to become ſubiects vnto King Edward.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 Herevpon, when they had receyued their othes, Patricke Dunbar was commaunded by K. Ed|ward, to builde vp agayne the Caſtel of Dunbar vppon his owne coſtes and charges, for that hee had throwne it downe, when he ſawe he was not able to defend it againſt the Engliſh power com|ming towards hym.
