Compare 1587 edition: 1 This buſineſſe beeing thus quieted, an other enſued after this maner:New trouble. The men of Cathnes ſore offended with their Biſhop named Adam, for that vpon refuſall to pay theyr tythes, he had accurſed them, fell vppon him within his owne houſe, and firſt ſcourging him with roddes,Adam Biſhop of Cathnes ſlaine by the people of that countrey. at length ſet fire vpon him and brunt him within his owne Kitchen.
