Compare 1587 edition: 1 Henry the ſecond of that name king of En|glande, hearing that Malcolme had thus ſub|dued his domeſtical enimies, dread leaſt he being enboldened therwith, ſhould now attempt ſome|what againſt the Engliſhmen, and therefore by counſell of his Nobles, he ſent an Herald vnto king Malcolme,K. Malcolme ſummoned to do homage. commaunding him to come vnto London, there to do his homage vnto him, for the landes of Cumberland, Northumberlãd, and Huntington, in maner and forme as his graundfather king Dauid had before done vnto his predeceſſour Henry the firſt, with certificate, that if he fayled he would take from him all the ſayde landes.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 King Malcolme obeyed this cõmaundement of king Henry, but yet vnder condition, (as the Scottiſh wryters affirme) that it ſhoulde in no maner wiſe preiudice the frauncheſſes and li|berties of the Scottiſh kingdome.
