Compare 1587 edition: 1 King Stephan therefore, conſtreyned to re|deeme the captiues, gaue not onely a great ſome of money for them, but alſo made reſignation of all ſuch title, clayme and intereſt as eyther he or any of his ſucceſſours might make or pretend to the counties of Northumberland and Cum|berland.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 Howbeit his nobles were no ſooner returned home, but that repenting him of that reſignatiõ,King Stephan repenteth. he gathered his puyſance againe, and entring in|to Northumberland, fought with the Scottes that came foorth to reſiſt him, and obtayning the victorie, tooke a great parte of the countrey into his poſſeſſion.
