There is no man that could tell of what mat|ter this Croſſe was made, whether of mettall, ſtone, or of tree.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 A dreame.He was admoniſhed alſo, (as the report go|eth) in his ſlepe the next night after, that he ſhould buylde an Abbay in the ſame place where thys chaunce happened.Holy Rood houſe builded Wherupon he ſent for work|men into Fraunce and Flaunders, and ſet them in hande to buyld this Abbey of Chanons regu|ler, as he was admoniſhed, dedicating it in the honor of the Croſſe.

The foreſayde Croſſe remayned in this Ab|bey, til the dayes of king Dauid Bruce, who loſt it to the Engliſh men at Durram field where he was takẽ priſoner. But inough of theſe Mõkiſh deuiſes.
