Compare 1587 edition: 1 Whileſt king Alexander was thus occupied in buylding and repayring of religious houſes,Dauid brother to king Alex|ander. his brother Dauid liued in Englande with hys ſiſter Queene Maulde, and through fauor which the king hir huſbande bare towardes him, he ob|teyned in maryage one Maulde,Woldoſius Earle of Nor|thumberland & Huntingtõ. daughter vnto Woldoſius, or rather Waltheof Earle of Hun|tington and Northumberland, begot of his wife the ladie Iudith that was neece vnto king Wil|liam ye Conquerour, & for yt the ſayd Woldoſius or Waltheof had no other iſſue to inherite his lands, Dauid in right of his wife Mauld enioyed the ſame,The landes of Huntington and Northum|berland annex|ed to the crowne of Scotland. and was made Earle of Huntington & Northumberland, & had iſſue by his wife a ſonne named Henrie, by whom the lands of Hunting|ton, & ſome part of Northũberland were annexed vnto the crown of Scotlãd, as after ſhal appeare.
