Compare 1587 edition: 1 On the Morrow after, he came into the Ab|bey Churche, where firſt hearing diuine ſeruice, when the ſame was ended,King Donalde diſcomfited and chaſed in|to the Iles. he diſplayed the fore|ſayde Baner, and cauſed it to be borne before him in that iourney. Neuertheleſſe king Donalde met him with a mightie armie, and after long fight, was chaſed into the Iles,King Donalde is taken. where he was taken and brought vnto Edgar.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 Some ſay that when the battayles were rea|die to haue ioyned, his men beholding the Baner of Saint Cutbert ſpred agaynſt them, immedi|ately forſooke him, ſo that he beeing deſtitute of ſuccour, fled, in purpoſe to haue ſa [...]ed himſelfe in ſome one of the Weſterne Iles, but being appre|hended by the Inhabitants, was brought (as is ſayde) vnto Edgar, by whom he was (howſoeuer the hap of his taking chaunced) caſt immediatly into priſon, wherein he ſhortly after dyed.King Donalde dieth in priſõ.
