Compare 1587 edition: 1 King Malcolme to withſtande ſuch exploytes attempted by his enimie, leuied a great hoſte of his ſubiectes, and comming with the ſame into Northumberlande, beſieged the ſayde Caſtell of Anwike.The caſtell of Anwike beſie|ged by the Scottes. And nowe when the keepers of the hold were at poynt to haue made ſurrender, a cer|taine Engliſh knight conceiuing in his mind an hardie and daungerous enterpriſe, mounted on a ſwift horſe without armor or weapon, ſauing a ſpeare in his hand, vpon the poynt wherof he bare the keyes of the caſtel, & ſo iſſued forth at ye gates, riding directly towardes the Scottiſh campe.
