Shortly after with an aſſemble of all the nobles of Scotland this mariage was made & ſolemni|ſed after the Octaues of Paſch, in the yeare 1067.1067. H. B. with al ioy and triumph that might be deuiſed.

Compare 1587 edition: 1 King William the Conqueror of England, being enformed hereof, feared leaſt this alliance betwixt Malcolm and Edgar might breed ſome trouble & diſquietneſſe to his eſtate, ſith the ſame Edgar had many friendes through all the partes of England. To preuent therfore the occaſions of inteſtine trouble, he confined all the lynage of the foreſayd Edgar,Engliſh men fled into Scot|lande. by reaſon whereof, a great number of Engliſhe men came into Scotlande vnto king Malcolme, and many of them obtey|ning liuings at his handes, remayned there con|tinually during their liues, leauing to their poſte|ritie their names and poſſeſſions. Amongſt whõ were theſe, Lindſey, Vaus, Ramſay, Louell, Towris,Surnames of Engliſh men in Scotland. Preſtoun, Sandelãds, Biſſart, Sow|lis, Wardlaw, Maxwel, with diuerſe other.
