Possibly an inaccurate recollection of the poem which Giovanni Sulpizio da Veroli supplied to conclude the Pharsalia of Lucan, which its author had left incompete. It acclaims the poet as `vates' and compares him to Orpheus, though without reference to Celtic bards - M. Annaei Lucani poete clarissimi pharsalia ..., edited and annotated by Sulpicius Verulus (Paris, 1538), fols. 182v-183r.
