Leland records only that `There was [a] celle of the order of monkes of S. Dogmaels in Caldey Island now suppressed' - Itinerary III, 51. The detail about `Lille' seems to have been supplied by Harrison, who by adjusting Leland's phrasing makes it clear that the monastery was a daughter-house of St Dogmells (a Tironian house), and not, as Leland implies, a member of a discrete order.
