Thomas Soulemont (d. 1541) was a native of Jersey, of which he was made dean in 1534, and an important figure in government who became Thomas Cromwell's secretary. An enthusiastic antiquary, he provided Leland with manuscripts relating to the Channel Islands, and is cited by him as the source for King John's having retained the lordship of the Channel Islands when he lost that of other continental lands - Itinerary IV, 187.
